Exposición “Contemporánea” de Jerónimo Elespe en Benveniste Contemporary

A partir del 02/03/2024

Jerónimo Elespe's (Madrid, 1975) approach to printmaking has steadily developed since our first collaboration with this artist in 2016. The media and its pace suits his working method to perfection, rendering them a cumulative process of addition and subtraction, layer upon layer until the desired accumulation of information has been attained.

The prints that comprise this series, titled Contemporánea is the artists' first encounter with the woodcut technique. Adding etching and monotype to the wooden matrix generate a distinctive character or overtone to the final result, with a clear-cut and crisp notion of "less is more".

Printed by Elena Alonso, Usama Habil and Dan Benveniste.
